Issey Miyaké thought about creating a perfume that was "as clear as spring water", combining the spray of a waterfall, the fragrance of flowers, and the scent of springtime forest. L'Eau d'Issey achieved an enormous popularity, especially in the United States in the 1990s. L'Eau d'Issey is an aquatic floral scent with transparent notes of lotus, freesia and cyclamen and juicy melon. The middle note of peony, lily and carnation reveals the perfume's character. The end note is a refined woody scent with the notes of cedar, sandal, musk and amber. It was created in 1992.

L'Eau d'Issey for Men is a woody aquatic fragrance with yuzu as in top notes, along with notes of bergamot, lemon and tarragon. A middle note is spicy and woody: nutmeg and water lily are an exciting and unexpected accord in this composition. An end note carries an intense woody scent which is sharp and enriched with tobacco,sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and musk. It was created by Jacques Cavallier in 1994.
Two editions in new flacons but with the same compositions were introduced in 2009 - L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme and L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Intense. Colours of the flacons - light grey and dark grey colour of asphalt make an impression of a union of water and concrete.
Nuit d'Issey is a new men's fragrance from Issey Miyake, which, judging by the design of the bottle, belongs to the same collection as L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme from 2009. The bottle is colored in black to represent the night, magnetic and hypnotic, the main inspiration for this edition.
The composition is a woody-spicy with a leather backbone,it is also described as a sharp, crisp and mysterious ode to wood. Top notes include zesty citruses of bergamot and grapefruit. The heart of the mysterious trail of leather accords is enhanced with spices, black pepper, woods and vetiver. The base notes are rich dark woods, patchouli and incense with tonka bean.
Photographer Ryan Hopkinson is responsible for the advertising campaign. The fragrance is available as 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette. Nuit d’Issey was launched in 2014.
