JOOP! (pronounced "yope") is a German fashion and cosmetics brand founded by designer Wolfgang Joop in 1978. The designer capitalized the name and added the exclamation point to distinguish the brand from himself.
JOOP! showed its first ready-to-wear collection in 1982, and added menswear to its line in 1985.
JOOP! is known especially for its prolific line of fragrances, beginning with the first scent, JOOP! Femme, introduced in 1987. Popular JOOP! Homme was introduced just two years later. Both became top sellers and helped JOOP! evolve from a fashion company into a lifestyle company who today offers fashions, accessories, eyewear, fragrances and home goods.
Wolfgang Joop left the company in 2001, but the brand has endured. The house has been owned by Swiss-based Holy Fashion Group since 2008, though Coty retains the JOOP! cosmetics and fragrance licenses. Primarily marketing its goods in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, JOOP! is one of the most popular and recognized brands today in Germany.
Wolfgang Joop's daughter Jette Joop is also a perfumer with several fragrances on the market.
Designer Joop! has 39 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 1987 and the newest is from 2016. Joop! fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Creations Aromatiques, Michel Almairac, Sophie Labbe, Antoine Lie, Alienor Massenet, Benoist Lapouza, Christophe Raynaud, Veronique Nyberg, Olivier Polge, Francis Kurkdjian, Gilles Romey, Louise Turner, Calice Becker and Michel Girard.Elegant and masculine woodsy note of patchouli and Atlas cedar develops after the metal accord of mint and lavender. At the end, the intensive woodsy composition turns into an explosive energy of coffee and stirax in the warm musk and Tonka surrounding.
The bottle was designed by Thierry Mugler himself, and there are two variances – a shiny metal one and rubbery black. The fragrance was launched in 1996.
